Before becoming a consultant for team and business transformation, Sonsoles was a well-known pianist of contemporary music in The Netherlands. After having followed a solid academic path along Madrid, Freiburg and New York, this odd bird landed in Amsterdam to pursue the experiment: how can music be notated differently and what would that do to the collaboration with other musicians? How do I create a market for transdisciplinary contemporary productions? What happens when plugging a piano into a power socket?
In other words, her work as a pianist, conductor and producer in the contemporary music field revolved around three themes: high performance in a collaborative context, the networked contemporary music market, and the use of algorithms to increase the sound possibilities of acoustic instruments.
After a career of seventeen years with concerts in Amsterdam and abroad with living composers having written dozens of pieces for her, she translated those three themes from the domain of the modern arts to that of business. She translated the graphic scores for ensembles into systemic tools for teams, the networked model of the contemporary music market into a networked model for fast and agile organizations, and the use of algorithms into an implementation model for the digital transformation. An ensemble of contemporary music and a modern high performance team in the digital age are the same.
Within this context, Sonsoles further developed the traits of high performers: managing emotions, controlling fear and taking massive action.
Sonsoles was born on the island of Tenerife. From a very young age she was certain about one thing, she wanted to explore the world. She has lived in five countries and worked in fourteen. She is fully fluent in English, Spanish and Dutch and has over 15 years of experience with multidisciplinary projects in 14 countries, in several languages and with different nationalities, in a variety of roles.
Despite her love of travel, she has a very strong bond with the Teide volcano on her birth island. She often jokes that she was born on a volcano. That is most likely where her creativity comes from!
